Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers (PHC) has partnered with the St. Louis Public School System, St. Louis County School Districts, and the St. Louis Archdiocese to provide much-needed school-linked health services. In addition to periodic screening, diagnosis, and treatment exams, our school-linked services include immunizations, dental screening, and follow-up exams.
Our school programs give students better access to health care while making it easier to detect potential health problems before they become serious. Untreated health problems, of course, harm a student’s ability to learn and to grow. Providing school-linked services also decreases absenteeism by keeping children healthier and makes it less likely that they’ll miss school to attend a doctor’s appointment.
